Jack Petrash is the founder and director of the Nova Institute, which seeks to build a bridge between Waldorf Education and contemporary educators to encourage dialogue and a sense of common purpose. An educator with more than 30 years of classroom experience, he has written extensively on issues pertaining to innovative classroom instruction and is the author of Understanding Waldorf Education: Teaching from the Inside Out. In addition, he has traveled significantly to work with parents on educational issues. His parenting pieces have appeared in the Washington Post, and on National Public Radio and Pacifica Radio. His third book, Navigating the Terrain of Childhood was released in 2004, the Nova Institute’s first publication.
